Chiama ora

Located just one kilometer from the medieval town of San Gimignano in the province of Siena in the heart of Tuscany, the Casale Falchini winery extends over many hectares of specialized vineyards, surrounded by the beautiful hillsides of the Tuscan countryside.

The area where it is located takes its name from the old Casale, an ancient building that sits at the top of the hill, North of San Gimignano and in its past it was also convent of friars. This is where the winery was founded in 1964 by Riccardo Falchini, who with his commitment and seriousness gave life to the first specialized vineyards of Vernaccia di San Gimignano beginning of 1968.
In 1976, thanks to the valuable advice of the great oenologist and friend Giacomo Tachis, the old wine cellar was replaced by a new one, equipped with modern systems for cold process vinification and specialized bottling: thus the winery became the first in the territory to be equipped with state of the art modern systems, with which to carry out new vinification processes such as the control of the fermentation of the musts and the temperature control the wines in the cellar.

A Winery of excellence

There are different types of wines produced at Casale by the Falchini winery, but 65% of the production is dedicated to the indigenous white grape Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the first DOC white wine of Italy appointed in 1966.
At the top of the production of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano wines are the Vigna a Solatìo Riserva and the Ab Vinea Doni.
The red wines are even more interesting, as the unique marine-like soil and climate of San Gimignano are ideal for producing excellence: Falchini therefore offers a Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG called Titolato Colombaia, the red Super Tuscan Paretaio, which is a fine example of high class Sangiovese; and finally the Super Tuscan Campora, a revelation for Cabernet Sauvignon in San Gimignano since its first incredible vintage in 1985.

The Falchini winery has been exporting its wines all over the world for over 50 years, receiving important awards and accolades from wine journalists and in the most prestigious international wine competitions.
