Vernaccia di San Gimignano D.O.C.G.

The grape Vernaccia di San Gimignano represents an element of great importance for the production of Casale Falchini, which can boast among its own white wines D.O.C.G. peak Vigna a Solatìo and Ab Vinea Doni.

For over 50 years, Benozzo Gozzoli was the first wine produced by the vineyards of Casale Falchini, made entirely from Vernaccia grapes. For the wine label, an affresco painting from the 14th century artist Benozzo Gozzoli was chosen,

entitled "l'Ubriachezza di Noè" from the biblical story of "the drukenness fo Noah".

From a hand selection of grapes from the vineyards in San Gimignano the Ab Vinea Doni (from the lating "Gift from the Vines") is also produced, composed mainly of Vernaccia grapes, which are fermented and aged in 225l oak barrels for approximately 4 to 5 months.

From the sunny side vineyard "Vigna a Solatìo", one of the oldest vineyards at Casale, we produce two wines from this single vinayard:

the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Vigna a Solatìo and Vigna a Solatìo Riserva

Tuscan White IGT Castel Selva coming directly from

the vineyards of Casale Falchini in San Gimignano.

Castel Selva is a light and dry white, characterized by a slight aroma of tropical fruits and sweet spices. This wine is fermented and aged in samll french oak wood barrels and is obtained from Chardonnay grapes, hand picked in the experimental vineyards planted in 1980 of this new grape variety
